Games Workshop LoTR : Gandalf and his cart

Hi !
I wanted this set since a long time, but like it is usually expensive set , I didn't buy it.
Some times ago, I found one on ebay for a very good price.
And I've bought it ! (it's a "finecast" set)
[There is also a Mithril Gandalf's cart (with two Hobbit Children !) but the price is very dissuasive ...(more than 100€ !) ]
After I received the packet, I've let it on my desk with the idea to paint it quickly.
I've finished it about one month ago but didn't show it.

" ORCS !!! " (GW)

You have seen them in my precedent post ("Paint Table Saturday II "), but I've promised to show you them again !
Those Orcs are a gift of Stéphane-Mehapito Master of "Au Bord du Fleuve" !
I've said that they were Uruk-Hai and "finecast" minis, but Stephane explained to me that they were plastic Mordor's Orcs !
Honesty, the sculpt is quite bad but the poses are not bad and they were very easy to paint !
(I think that I've painted them in 2 hours and that is a record for me ! )
I hope that the result is not too bad ...

Paint Table Saturday (II)

Hello !

Here's my second post for the "Paint Table Saturday" (Google+ Group )

It's an initiative of  Sofie Vandersmissen (blog: "Sofie's Paint Blog"): many thanks again for the idea !
Like I've posted nothing since 2 weeks (and more !), I've a lot of things on my table !
some are finished, some not.

I've almost finished the terrain piece: it will be a modular model, which could be a simple scenery or even an island.(look at the wooden pontoons that I've begun)
I've done some more rocks and walls with the styrofoam I've used for the "Island"
I've done also 2 other pieces of terrain, suitable for other Islands or anything else !
I've begun the conversion of a small boat that I've found in a box in a Charity Shop ("Emmaüs")
I've painted the 3 Uruk Hai (GW "finecast") that Stéphane/Mehapito ("Au Bord du Fleuve") has sent me because I've won the price of the small contest he's doing on his blog (THANKS !)
I've painted also a Monk from a Valdemar set and repaint a Valdemar set of Knights.

Voici mon deuxième poste pour le "Paint Table Saturday"(Google+ Group)

 Il s'agit d'une initiative de Sofie Vandersmissen (blog: "Sofie's Paint Blog"): un grand merci encore pour l'idée!
Comme je n'ai rien posté depuis 2 semaines (et plus!), j'ai beaucoup de choses sur ma table! certaines sont terminées, d'autres non.

 J'ai presque fini de la pièce de terrain: ce sera un modèle modulable, qui pourra être un décor simple, ou même une île (regardez les pontons en bois que j'ai commencés).
J'ai fait un peu plus de rochers et de murs avec le styrofoam que j'ai utilisé pour "l'île".
J'ai fait aussi deux autres pièces de terrain, appropriées pour d'autres îles ou toute autre chose!
J'ai commencé la conversion d'un petit bateau que j'ai trouvé dans une boîte dans un magasin de charité («Emmaüs»)
J'ai peint les 3 Uruk Hai (GW "Finecast") que Stéphane / Mehapito ("Au Bord du Fleuve") m'a envoyés parce que j'ai gagné le prix du petit concours qu'il fait sur ​​son blog (MERCI!)
J'ai peint aussi un moine d'un ensemble Valdemar et repeint un ensemble Valdemar de chevaliers.

DWARVEMBER (V) the last one ! GIMLI -GW

Last month, I've also started this well-known Dwarf : Gimli !
This time it's not a Mithril figure but a GW one. I wanted to paint both 28mm manufacturers + both 1/72 ones (Caesar and Dark Alliance).
Like I've finished it today , I thought that it was not too late for include it in the Dwarvember serie!
I've also did some pictures to compare GW and MITHRIL Dwarves.
The base is from Stéphane ( "Dr Willett's Workshop" ).

 Le mois dernier, j'ai aussi commencé ce nain célèbre: Gimli!
Cette fois, ce n'est pas une figure MITHRIL mais une GW. Je voulais peindre les deux fabricants 28mm + les deux 1/72 (Caesar et Dark Alliance).
Comme je l'ai terminé aujourd'hui, j'ai pensé qu'il n'était pas trop tard pour l'inclure dans la série Dwarvember!
J'ai aussi fait quelques photos pour comparer GW et MITHRIL.

"The Hobbit" (7) Gollum (GW)

I can't miss this important character of the Books (both "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Ring" !) It's an Hobbit (not the same group than the Shire's Hobbits ) and his real name is Smeagol. It's difficult to write all his history here, but I add some links to descriptions (in English and in French).

This time it's a GW figure, because I didn't have a Mithril one when I started this project...
I've got one since  and maybe I will paint it too: interesting for another comparison!
In fact, here, it's the Gollum of "The Lord of the Rings": he has scars on his back and looks exactly like the Gollum of the Movie.
Je ne peux pas rater ce personnage important des livres (à la fois «The Hobbit» et «Le Seigneur des Anneaux"!) C'est un Hobbit (pas le même groupe que les Hobbits de la Comté) et son vrai nom est Sméagol. Il est difficile d'écrire toute son histoire ici, mais j'ajoute quelques liens vers des descriptions (en anglais et en français).
 Cette fois, c'est une figure GW, parce que je n'avais pas de Mithril quand j'ai commencé ce projet ...
J''en ai eu une depuis et peut-être que je vais la peindre aussi: intéressant pour la comparaison!
En fait, ici, c'est le Gollum du "Seigneur des Anneaux": il a des cicatrices sur son dos et ressemble exactement au Gollum du film.

MITHRIL vs GW, "The Hobbit" and some more....

Alcidas on my last post about the Hobbit: "Beorn"
asked me if the MITHRIL and the GW figures are in the same size.
I've done a small comparison between some of them:

m'a demandé si les figurines MITHRIL et GW sont de la même taille.
J'ai fait une petite comparaison entre certaines d'entre elles.

Sam (Mithril) Farmer Maggot (GW) Aragorn (GW)

GW: Gimli (dwarf) Frodo (Hobbit) Aragorn (Human)

What I could say is that some figures seems to be compatible (except maybe the style of each one):
Gandalf
Dwarves
Humans and Elves
but the Hobbits are not! the GW are too large and don't respect the "real" size  of a Hobbit (half-man)
 This afternoon I've seen a movie called : "The Hobbit" , it's a kind of prequel of the LoTR

 Ce que je peux dire, c'est que certaines figurines semblent être compatibles (sauf peut-être le style de chacune):
Gandalf
nains
Humains et Elfes
mais les Hobbits ne le sont pas! les GW sont trop grandes et ne respectent pas la taille "réelle" d'un Hobbit (semi-homme).

Oh! speaking about Hobbits: this afternoon I've seen a movie called : "The Hobbit" , it's a kind of prequel of the LoTR....
 Oh! en parlant de Hobbits:
 Cet après-midi j'ai vu un film intitulé: "The Hobbit", c'est une sorte de prequel du SdA ....

"A MITHRIL meeting !" in a Tolkien's World

this week , I've met a friend of the "Many Mithril Pages forum" who lives near me.
Séverine (it's a woman!) paints and makes dios with MITHRIL figures, while her husband Sébastien does the same with LoTR GW figures!
It's a lovely and fantastic Tolkien's home!

 The time that I've spend with them seems me so short, because we have so much to say and see,
so we promise to have other meetings very soon!
I've done some pictures of course!
