Monk of the Month (September) !!!

I've forgotten to post my monthly Monk !

MONK of the MONTH ! (August)

After some time without this little challenge, the Monk of the Month is coming back !

In fact, I've just finished it this month: I've had begun to paint it some time ago.

"At the Campfire" (VALDEMAR Medieval Camp) - Finished

After a Successful Post about Séverine and Sébastien's works (best score of comments since I've started my blog: I'm completely jealous! )  [ "A MITHRIL meeting....." ] My friends thank you all for your nice welcome and comments.
Well, with difficulties I've continued my humble work !
(next time, I will do a tavern, a mounted Warg, a Hobbit Hole, a Warg Skin, a Mumak, etc.......)
But it's too much time to do, so finally I've finished this little dio!
Like somebody said: I'm telling stories, I hope that's another one witch will "tickle" your imagination.........
(I must say that the pictures are not very good: maybe not enough light, but it gives an impression of "before the night" that's fit quite well with the subject, no?)

At the last post, I've forgotten to say that David Berta [ "Everything is Fair in love and Wargames" ]for me the little Poster which is on at the up right of my page : I like it a lot ! (it's one of my preferred passage both of the book and the movie!) :

(I forgot to take some shots sometimes but I think that everybody should understand how I do!)

(J'ai oublié parfois de prendre quelques clichés, mais je pense que tout le monde peut comprendre comment j'ai fait!)

The material:

very fine sand

small pieces of natural moss

little rocks

small tufts of grass (Green Line Scenery)

....and also wood-glue and a brush (the same than in the part II !)
 ....et aussi de la colle à bois et un pinceau (les mêmes que dans  la partie II!)

 I had put on the base a great coat of glue, I've put the knights in place and then scattered
the sand with my fingers....

  Après avoir mis sur la base une grosse couche de colle, j'ai mis les chevaliers en place et ensuite dispersé le sable avec mes doigts....

then I've added the rocks and the moss in some places with the tweezers (the most difficult was to hide more or less the base of both knights!)

 puis j'ai ajouté les rochers et la mousse à certains endroits (le plus difficile était de cacher plus ou moins la base de deux chevaliers!

next step: the tufts of grass :

First: Base + rock + tree (I don't know if I add some foliage on the tree...maybe yes....)

When I had done "After the Battle" I didn't think that I shall do a second part!
I had the idea when I was looking for something to paint in my collection of VALDEMAR.
This figure, which is sold with the base, is in fact,"A Knight cleaning his sword", but I've changed the position of the sword in the right hand and "cheated" for the left hand!

I've painted it in the same colours that the Knight on horse (black +  red cross: "After The Battle") because I plan to do a vignette with both knights.

I accept all sort of advices and critics!

Lorsque j'avais fait "After the Battle" je ne pensais pas que je ferai une deuxième partie!
J'ai eu l'idée quand je cherchais quelque chose à peindre dans ma collection de Valdemar.
Cette figurine, qui est vendue avec la base, est en fait, est «Un chevalier nettoyant son épée", mais j'ai changé la position de l'épée dans la main droite et "triché" pour la main gauche!
Je l'ai peinte dans les mêmes couleurs que le chevalier à cheval (noir + croix rouge) parce que je prévois de faire une vignette avec les deux chevaliers.

J'accepte toutes sortes de conseils et de critiques!

W.I.P. Knights Resting (VALDEMAR) and "Castle Ruins" (PAPERMAU)

Some quick shots of 2 works, almost finished but not completely !.....
The Knights: 
they could be seen like Templars Knights!
they come from the set: Valdemar "Mounted Knights Resting (FREDERICUS-REX)
I've used one figure of this set for "After The Battle"  , 
and there is another one I didn't used yet.
The problem with this set is the number of horses poses: only 3 for 7 different knights! it's not enough!
then, I've chosen 5 knights and the 3 horses poses for a project that I would like to call: 

" Where's my horse ????!!!!!!"

I've  put them on the first part of the "Castle Ruins" from Mauther (Papermau):
a very nice Paper-card model! (but not finished yet....!)
(it's also a good way to see the scale of the Castle: it seems to be good for 1/72 !)

Les Chevaliers pourraient être vus comme des Templiers!

J'ai utilisé une figurine de ce set pour  "After The Battle"  ,  

et il y en a une autre que je n'ai pas encore utilisée. 

Le problème avec ce set est le nombre de poses pour les chevaux : seulement 3 pour 7 chevaliers différents!  ça ne suffit pas!

J'ai donc choisi 5 chevaliers et les 3 poses de chevaux  pour un projet que je voudrais appeler:
«Où est mon cheval???!!"

Je les ai posés sur la première partie de "Castle Ruins" from Mauther (Papermau):   un très beau modèle en papier ! (mais que je n'ai pas encore fini ....!)
