Some pictures...and "The Hobbit" new trailer!

I'll begin with the trailer.....
I would like to know what you think about it :

my opinion:
interesting BUT :
I can't remember (and I've read the Book a lot of time!) all this "action",  those battles and so long !
For me it's a story full of events, but not so "speed" !
Be quite, you Dwarfs and the others !!!!
P.Jackson seems to have done a movie like many Great Productions where the images are most important than the story ... another LoTR !
I can't say that I'm disappointed before I see the movie but I'm a little bit skeptical...
Wait and see!

 mon avis:

Wait and see!

Something different and a little bit more calm :
"Le Pont-Colombier" of  Veyrac (87) France - XVII century
 (own pictures)
It's an unique monument in France. The upon part was used for the carrier pigeons. He's over a small river and it's a very nice building. Some peaceful "limousine" cows live in all the grasslands around.

...... and now, it's time to some painting because I didn't since more than a week!!!!

  1. very nice monument, moving to New Zealand means that I can no longer go look at some old historic monuments, except the towns Kentish Hotel (longest continuos liquer licence in New Zealand, one of the oldest bars etc etc) it is a pretty beilding too.

    1. It's a NEW (zea)LAND !!! I hope that you could do many travels (in Europe, it's a very historically rich part of the World!)

  2. Old buildings always amaze me. On the movie: I've always preferred The Hobbit to LoTR perhaps because it's slower paced and more of a tale than a novel. Guess that feeling will be lost in the movie, still one to watch as soon as it arrives here though.

    1. I love old buildings too, Andrew!
The Hobbit is a tale for children... and I love it !

  3. I first read the book 40 years ago and it is like an old friend to me. Modern audiences would not be satisfied without all of the action thrown in. Which is too bad as the millions of fans who adore the book would.

    Happy Painting!!

    1. Anne, we are on the same side of the Fantasy !!
(I suppose it's easier and natural for an Irish woman related to your beautiful country!)
Not sure that the million of Tolkien's books fans will be unsatisfied with "The "3-movies" Hobbit"...
      It's difficult to be critic.

    1. Hello Michele!
I love buildings (like yours!) and I'm happy to see them in their context. I've not a lot of informations about the covered-bridge but I can imagine many possibilities... (... and you create them: it's a good deal,no ?)

  5. I 'm sure the Hobbit will fall foul of modern movie goers expectations, but Jackson is a devotee of the books and I'm sure will try to keep to the original story. I suppose if nothing else he will introduce it to a whole new audience; I guess we wil will have to wait and see.

    1. Michael, I'm sure that Jackson is first a money-maker, ! I know that he can't realise The LoTR and the Hobbit without a lot of money and it must make a lot of money!

  6. The fact that Radagast will play a major part in all 3 films but doesn´t include Tom Bombadil in LOTR does it for me....rubbish. He may have well give them all guns. What the heck was that bit with the sledge and the hedgehogs !!?
Peter Jackson makes nice looking films but the storylines are ****.
I´ll watch it..but only on DVD, a waste of time to go to the cinema for a messed up story.
    Salut

    1. Hey Paul !!! you're very hard about Jackson!
(but I'm happy to read such a comment! we must stay critic and free to think!)
For information, we will have the pleasure to see the marvellous Cate Blanchett as Galadriel (sic) and Elijah Wood as Frodo... for the narration!
      surrealistic !!

    2. Hard!? Moi! :-d
My reason...he has a storyline already for the hobbit film..the hobbit book..if he was to make a film and call it..er?..middle earth story with the bilbo story added, then ok..but if he makes a film about the book (one of my all time favourites) and calls it the same, then it should be 95% the same story. The LotR´s films..they should be called the coffee table version of LOTR´s..half the story is missing, it based on the book ok..but it isn´t the book.
Same as the film Dune..everything in bits and pieces.

    3. we are on the same way, Paul!
LoTR, The Hobbit, Dune... we can add the Star Wars I,II,III: they are walking on the same road, paved with $ !
some men seems to be allowed to do what they want with our cultural heritage!
      Shame on them!

  7. Inspiring building!

The Hobbit... action scenes and special efects are more important than the storyline... :s

  8. Alors,
    A+.
    Phil.

      A+.

  10. I love the second trailer because it had so much warmth in it and it was very magical, I especially loved the little hedgehogs in one of the scenes :) It will be such a delightful film..... but I must admit that I've never read the book.

    1. I know what you think about the trailer and P.J. "vision" of the book and you know what I think, so it's not necessary to open a new (and eternal!) debate on the Movie!
thanks for comments: you're always welcome here!
(Tom Bombadil will be my next post....)

    3. I hope that I shall paint many other "forgotten" characters and scenes !
maybe a work of a life!
(and with The Hobbit, I will also have to do, but in the the reverse direction!)

Bard and Thranduil ? possible but only with the "official" manufacturers : GW and MITHRIL!
I will have a look for buying the figures and ... paint them (for you!)
