TEMPLARS CONVERSIONS (STRELETS)

Recently, I've done some conversions on STRELETS horses (see here: link ) but I wanted to know  exactly how they look painted.
I've chosen  to paint 2 Templars Knights: I'm not very satisfied with the white (humm, that's strange.......) and honestly, I paint more easily black than white..

I'll continue my review of the blogs that I follow but another day: my pc is dying  and it take  too many time for doing something good!
You can always have a look at my blog-roll.... thanks!

  1. Looks good your conversions and your painting, and I agree with you, white isn't easy to paint. I can sing a song from that.

    1. thanks Bruno!
the "big" problem with white (for me!) is the paint itself!
too diluted, it's catastrophic and not enough it's the same!it's crazy!
I would like to hear your song!

  2. Maybe the white is too white? Maybe the cloth is new... ;)

    2. I was just wondering... Wasn't that the problem?

    3. That's a good question, David! I'm sure that there's a better way for painting white than using ... white!
I've paint some STRELETS black Hospitalers, and it was better than the Templars in my opinion !

    4. Those are good! I remembered the dio. Don't know if it is from the photos, but looked diferent (errr, yes, better) from these new guys.

I think yours are good. Maybe what you need is some shadows, as the clothes don't fall straight... That would make some diference!

  5. Of all the colors, I have suffered the most with white (well, technically it isn't a color, but still.), especially when painting with oils. Your painting, however, seems great and the red crosses just add more to it.

    1. ...thanks Andrew! I use Acrylic but the paint is never good for the white:
I tried 3 : CITADEL, REVELL, and another cheap one and it's always the same! Maybe Michele (Michigentile) is right : very light grey could be better (like very dark grey for the black, sometimes with a point of dark blue...)

  6. I like them. The Strelets's lance could be better ...

    1. thanks...I know for the lance, but like it was just a trial, I didn't change it, or if I'll use for another project, I'll add a flag.

    1. The quality of a work is not a problem of scale, you know!
it's just a question of work with a touch of talent, and a touch of love too !

  8. Bravo Sam, not an expert, maybe you can try to veil the white uniform with a very light gray. But still I am surprised every time your progress.Ciao

    1. Thanks Michele... I don't think that I progress at each figure I paint!
I try to do something different at each time..
light grey ? I'll try, but in fact I use it for the shading...
