"AFTER THE BATTLE" (Part II) (VALDEMAR)

"AFTER THE BATTLE" (Part II)
When I had done "After the Battle" I didn't think that I shall do a second part!
I had the idea when I was looking for something to paint in my collection of VALDEMAR.
This figure, which is sold with the base, is in fact,"A Knight cleaning his sword", but I've changed the position of the sword in the right hand and "cheated" for the left hand!

I've painted it in the same colours that the Knight on horse (black +  red cross: "After The Battle") because I plan to do a vignette with both knights.

I accept all sort of advices and critics!

Thanks!

Merci!

.... and another "big Challenge" with a give-away !
Anne, also called "The Lovely Irish Woman", (Anne's Attic),  who begin to paint figures with talent, takes part in a great battle against Ray (Don't through at one)!
just have a look at Anne's post for the rules and the gift!
Good Luck!

  2. Thank you so much for the mention and the compliment. We'll see what Ray has to say!!

I like this figure. There is a pensive look to this figure that I like. The way you've placed him on the rocks enhances that. Looking forward to seeing the vignette with both figures.

  3. Another tremendous vignette Sam, did you consider a bit of gore on the sword or would that be too much?

  6. This victor is one "plumb-tuckered-out" soldier: weary and zoned-out. A little rip in his outer garment, a little nick in his shield, and a little dust on boots and leggings might work to get the effect you are looking for. That being suggested, I think of these things to do myself, but for some lazy reason I usually don't end up bringing the mini to that state of completion. Great work, Sam!!

    1. you're right Jay! I think I'll add some blood on the sword and dust on the knight and the shield!
(you're doing something different and so good! we can't work at all the aspects of the hobby, except if we paint 24 hours per day!)
      Thanks!
