Thanks David, not easy to paint because it's not easy to paint a bear and also because of the "shirt" of the man: the yellow is very difficult to shade !
I love bears and you did a fine job, Sam Wise. Dancing bears always bring tears to my eyes since I know how much they suffer and how they train them by torturing them. I support your Brigite Bardott who fights for the freeing of all the dancing bears whom you can still find around Europe especially in Gipsy groups.
Dezz, lot of "normal" people loves bears and other animals. I do. I ignored that there was in our times some dancing bears. The problem is that laws are not always respected!
But i've painted (and Andi has sculpted it) to show the way of life in the Dark Ages (even if sometimes I think that it's always the dark-ages!)..it could be not very politically correct, but that's important to tell the true!
Well I love the figure and the bear, though I do not like people having dancing bears. maybe more so because ever since I was little my nickname was bear so that might have something to do with it.
Thanks Gowan, you're right: not a nice subject but if people have some "dancing bears", that's suppose that they live in dark-ages! (you can read my reply to Dezmond upside)
Sometimes, some subjects affect us particularly, we don't always know why..
Thanks Pryzmek ! interesting link and story! a very better use of a bear than the dancing bear! Animals have also been used for good things and with more respect, hopefully !
They look good! Why do you say they are not easy to paint?

RépondreSupprimerThanks Paul... if I could paint like you, it will be better!
