7th CAVALRY (WATERLOO 1815)..........

................finished!!! 

I'd only the shots to do... but not easy actually! (cold very cold weather!)

My first impression was at all wrong : it's a nice set and some poses are very good.

Only the horses necks are bad and their equipments are all the same! (it's like an army on campaign dressed for the parade!), but I'm afraid because I think they will be dead quickly:  they don't have a gourd !!

Je n'avais que les photos à faire ... mais pas facile en fait! (temps froid, très froid!)
Ma première impression était  fausse: c'est un ensemble agréable et quelques poses sont très bonnes.

Seuls les cous des chevaux sont mauvais et leurs équipements sont tous les mêmes! (c'est comme une armée en campagne habillée pour la parade!), mais je suis affrayé parce que je pense qu'ils seront morts rapidement: ils n'ont pas une gourde!

so I choose to post some comparisons between :

1- IMEX and WATERLOO 1815 Sioux sets

2-Some comparisons of other horses which can be used for 

the SIOUX  or other "Native American" tribes.

1-IMEX against WATERLOO 1815:

I must precise before that the IMEX figures are mainly  foot-warriors: only 3 riders poses and 3 horses poses: Plastic Soldiers Review

(I didn't take a picture of the awful 3rd horse pose!!! I let you view it on PSR! )

The SIOUX  warriors : the IMEX ones look to be too thin with big horses
and the poses are just acceptable!

...and you can see that I didn't finished to paint the IMEX ..... 

who knows the reason....

2- some alternative horses for Indians Tribes  (SIOUX or other ones...)

Paul (Paul's Bods) suggested to me the  

ZVEZDA Carthaginian Numidian Cavalry

and I'd the idea to have a look at  the HAT Allied Alexander's Cavalry :

in this order from left to right : 

WATERLOO 1815  (1)     HAT (2 )                 ZVEZDA (2)

 and also the HAT Numidian Cavalry  :

Both of them could be very good Indians horses!! 

(some swap to do on the special reins)

I hope that could be useful for you....

But the US Cavalry is coming... I'm scarred for the Sioux!!

"Kingdom of Heaven" (Valdemar)

It's not a new Valdemar's set!!!

just something I've done with different figures of different set!!!

Saladin is an old figure from the VP serie.

For him I've based the painting on this picture:

Unfortunately I've ruined a little the figures with the plaster when I've made the vignette!!! (grrr!!!!!): I must find a new way to fix figures on base !!!!

"The Pilgrims"-Valdemar-("old work but new pics!")

Yesterday, I'd decided to do some pictures of "old works" in daylight!!!!

This one is "the Pilgrims" from Valdemar:

it's one of my preferred set of this great manufacturer!

(I suppose it's an Alex sculpt....)

When I post it first at Benno's (April 2011) the tree was catastrophic,

so I'd made a new one....

if you are too lazy for going at Benno's (grrrrr...!!!)

Is there someone in France who paint (and post in a blog!!!) something different?

Who paints 1/72 figures just for the pleasure of paint, for fun or even artistic or historical (no-Nappies!) interest??? 

It's strange....

This is the first new painted set of the year!!!

... I know that's not really necessary in a hobby's blog or maybe could be strange, but I would to share with you :

Dad is dead yesterday evening 23 January 2012....

I'm sad, very sad... just need to cry... and want to remember the man he was: 

a good man, simple and always nice: he never complained 

and he liked every one and was loved by every one!

It's also a bad new for my wife and my children!

I don't know if I'll paint in the next days and weeks... perhaps yes because I'm sure he would like that I do the things I like.... 

I will see, later !

. Je sais que ce n'est pas vraiment nécessaire dans un blog de hobby ou peut-être peut  être étrange, mais je voudrais partager avec vous que:
Papa est mort hier soir 23 Janvier 2012 ....
Je suis triste, très triste ... juste besoin de pleurer ... et me souvenir de  l'homme qu'il était: un homme bon, simple et toujours agréable: il ne se plaignait jamais
et il aimait tout le monde et était aimé de tout le monde! 

C'est  aussi une mauvaise nouvelle pour ma femme et mes enfants! 

Je ne sais pas si je vais peindre dans les prochains jours et semaines ... peut-être que oui, parce que je suis sûr qu'il voudrait que  je fasse les choses que j'aime ....

 on  verra, plus tard!

7th US CAVALRY "on the march"

Before that I show both sets "SIOUX" and "7th CAVALRY" from WATERLOO 1815, I think that it's time  to show a previous work 

on the same subject!

I used for this little army the figures which could be good for a 

Cavalry "on the march": not easy to find !

I'd mixed STRELETS and ITALERI ("Union Cavalry") figures and horses: they fit perfectly together!

Avant que je montre les deux sets «Sioux» et «7ème cavalerie» de Waterloo 1815, je pense qu'il est temps de présenter un précédent travail sur le même sujet!
J'ai utilisé pour cette petite "armée"des figurines qui pourraient convenir pour uneCavalerie "en marche": pas facile à trouver!J'ai mélangé des  Strelets et des ITALERI ("Union Cavalery») cavaliers et chevaux: ils s'adaptent parfaitement ensemble!
