( Quick)Review IV-APACHE (Waterloo 1815)

I received this week a box of "APACHE" - WATERLOO 1815.
(see here), so I propose to you a quick review of the set.
I'll not loose my time (and yours!) with the "historically correct":
I think that Plastic Soldier Review will do that better!

1-the content :
two identical sprues  of 5 poses (both horses and Apache) + 2 "bonus"
if the number of 12 warriors is correct, 5 poses is not enough!!!

3-those Apache will served for reference:
(you can notice the beautiful "skirt" of the warriors!
....maybe they are Scottish Apache!)
It's more visible here:

5-so I spend the last night in some work on the horses: cutting the necks of the horses, cutting the "skirts" for having something better and cutting all those b****y "tufts of grass" on the horses bases!!!!

..... I know that it's not perfect, but in a "normal" distance of view,
it's acceptable!

....And for finishing, what do you think of this leg?

  2. I'm glad you're doing this series. I'm really enjoying it and the bit about Scottish Indians is so funny. Paint the skirt in tartan!!

    1. I've thought that I could paint the skirt in tartan, but it's too difficult!
      maybe later....

  3. Interesting set. The leg of the horse you ask for looks very good. Is it a female horse? :-) And about painting the skirt in tartan you can think about the following...
Print it with a printer on decal sheet and apply it to the figures. I know there's a lady who can paint excellent with computer software. Maybe she can paint the tartan for you.
    :-)

    1. Bruno: I'll not paint a "Scottish Apache": I don't want to have problems with Scots and Apaches !!!
and no, the horse is a male! (it seems...)
But nevertheless, I think that this set will have a good review on PSR !!

  5. l like the work you did painting these Apache very much, and the horses too. I see the Sculptor got the horses back leg wrong again. I have some of these but not painted. I`ve also two Imex Stage Coach`es but far to busy at present to paint them. I can not think these days,WHERE TIME GO`ES! Kind Regards. Beano Boy

    1. Thanks Paul for your visit !
I'm always depicted with sets which cover a new tribe or subject of the Old West, and I don't like to spend hours to re-do the sculptor's work !
I hope that I will have time to paint my Stage-coach ... later, but maybe we could do a parallel work on it ??
I imagine 2 stage-coaches painted by you and me and shown at the same time ...
      but time is so short!
