"The Hobbit" (6) Bilbo Baggins (MITHRIL M227)

I can't paint the whole range of the characters of "The Hobbit" and miss this one!
So after: (1)"Radagast the Brown", (2) Thranduil, (3)"Bard of Lake-Town", (4) "The Great Goblin", and (5) Beorn, it's time to show the Hero of the Quest!!!

I must be honest, if I'm a little satisfied with the paint-work, I'm not with the face and mainly the eyes!
I will try to correct this defaults and other ones on all the figures of the range for the Final Picture!

I thing it could be interesting to see Beorn and Bilbo together:

Beorn=35mm and Bilbo=15mm !!

The next ones will be :
-Gollum (finished)
-Elrond (finished)
-Thorin (finished)
-Galadriel (finished)
-A Hobbit Scout on Poney (finished)

and then:
-Gandalf and the Master of Laketown
I don't think that I will do more... but who knows?

and after : Back to the 1/72 !!!!

  2. Hi, Sam. For such a small fella, he is sporting a very fine paint-covering, by the steady hand of "Sam-the Man!"

Bilbo's eyes may squinting to get a sharp focus on the path leading up to where he is hunkered-down. Could be.

    1. I understand but the Mithril Hobbits are surprising: the faces look always like children's ones...

  7. Hello Pascal, another lovely figure! I think in my comment to your previous post, something went wrong with my English .... ehmmmm ....... sure you were already good before that job, but now you're great! (This was the sense). A big hug

Even it takes me a lot of time, it's easier for me to give the best I can with this scale and a single figure. It's different than with a group of 1/72 figures.

I know for the face, but it's the MITHRIL style!

  11. When working on a single figure rather than a unit, it takes more concentration, this I understand. I think he turned out just fine. He's so small that getting the eyes perfect would be difficult.

Very much looking forward to the rest of this series. Gollum next?

I'm sure that you could be able to paint the eyes!
The next one? perhaps Gollum, but a GW figure, I have to redo the pictures.

Before, I will show Gollum, not very elvish !
(For Galadriel and Elrond I think that you will wait a little: I can't take good enough pictures!)

  13. Eyes are always a problem...after my experiments with them I have stopped..too difficult to keep painting on every fig.
Lovely painting..as Bruno says..the shading is very good.

what I've seen with your painted eyes is not so bad!!
the problem with the Mithril figures is that the cavity of the eyes are not so ... visible!
I'm working a lot on the shading!
