ZVEZDA 8532 : " Thatched Country House " (conversion)

Hello !
After a break of one week (Scouts Camp), I'm back with a new building.

ZVEZDA  " Thatched Country House "

In fact, I've tried to build this "puzzle kit" from A to Z but I was not able to finish it: 

the roof is an incredible multi-parts model !! The main parts of the roof were not glued at the good size and I couldn't assemble the whole roof.... 

Even the walls are "multi-parts" !! You must cut the holes for the doors and the windows, cut and glue all the wooden parts , the only thing that I've found fun because it allows me to "customize" the house !

(I don't have pictures of the step-by-step, sorry... I've used cardboard and tree foliage)

.... next time: a conversion of a cheap (and awful!) laser cut  model !!

PROJECT HOBBITS (6) : Merry and Pippin (MITHRIL)

I don't care and I've paint 2 sets with the same characters !
Like they are famous in the LoTR saga, I don't think it's not necessary to add more!
(and I'm too lazy and tired this night for a long speech!)

It's an example of the variety of the the MITHRL figures:
I've counted around 5 Merry, Pippin, 10 Frodo, 11 Sam and 12 Bilbo!

The first set is M129 :

 2 Merry and  2 Pippin for the same price :

.... and like nobody seems to have notice it, 

I insist on the fact that for all those hobbits 

I've attempt to paint the eyes with more or less success ...

J'ai tenté de peindre les yeux ..... avec plus ou moins de succès ..

PROJECT HOBBITS (5) / Farmer Maggot - The Gaffer (MITHRIL)

Another part of the project! an interesting character  of  LoTR !

Farmer Maggot and his dogs (M348)

Well known for the quality of his mushrooms (a very appreciated dish of the Hobbits !) stolen many years ago by Frodo sometimes, Maggot is also reputed for his dogs. In "reality" he has 3 dogs but there's only 2 on the set.
In LoTR, he welcomes the 3 hobbits, Frodo, Sam and Pippin when they leave  the Shire for Rivendell and and even took them with his wagon to the ferry to meet Merry, and he even gives Frodo as a parting gift, a whole basket full of mushrooms!
And when the Nightwraith comes to his house, searching for "Baggins", he and his dogs are terrified but he doesn't give any information !
He is also in relationship with Tom Bombadil and gives him some informations about the Hobbits ...
 (Mrs Maggot is from another set: LR.26)

 Bien connu pour la qualité de ses champignons (un plat très apprécié des Hobbits!), volés parfois par Frodon il y a de nombreuses années  , Le Père Maggotte est également réputé pour ses chiens. Dans la «réalité», il dispose de 3 chiens, mais il y an a uniquement 2 dans le set.
Dans le SdA, il accueille les 3 Hobbits, Frodon, Sam et Pippin quand ils vivaient le Shire pour Fondcombe et les emmènent avec son chariot vers le bac  pour rencontrer Merry, il donne à Frodo en cadeau d'adieu d'un panier tout plein de champignons!
Et quand le Cavalier Noir vient à sa maison, à la recherche de "Sacquet", lui et ses chiens sont effrayés ! (pas comme dans la version de PJ!).
Il est aussi en relation avec Tom Bombadil à qui il donne quelques nouvelles des Hobbits.

 The Gaffer (part of LR 27)

Strange name ... but in fact it's just the father of Sam : Hamfast "Gaffer" Gamgee !
He doesn't appear a lot in the book, but he's important for Sam who quote him many times!
He is a reputed gardener and a wise man, he was in charge of Bilbo's garden and later, his son Sam Gamgee is in charge of Frodo's Garden .... you know what happened after!

 Drôle de nom ... mais en fait c'est juste le père de Sam: Hamfast "Gaffer" Gamgee !
Il n'apparait pas beaucoup dans le livre, mais il est important pour Sam qui le cite à plusieurs reprises!
Il est un jardinier réputé et un homme sage, il était chargé du jardin de Bilbo et, plus tard, son fils Sam Gamegie est chargé du Jardin de Frodon .... vous savez ce qui s'est passé ensuite!

REVIEW 10 / Corgi Junior Wild West

I just want to show a little collection of toys :
There is not a lot of stuff in this range, but they are nice !
I'm not sure that it could be used with 1/72 figures : they are too small !
Maybe with Ho or smaller ....

1- train:
 a small set with a locomotive and 2 different wagons :

2-Stage Coach :

3-Old West City:
I've seen them only 1 time on e-bay and... I've bought them!

4-Only 2 toys are missing in my collection:
The Wagon Train (very rare) and the Steamboat. I hope to find them ...

Nice toys !

It's possible that I try to paint the town, they could be useful for sceneries...

J'ai une petite collection de jouets "Corgi Junior Wild West".

1 loco et 4 wagons (qui existent en 2 modèles)
1 diligence
et surtout la ville de l'Ouest qui semble très très rare: c'est la seule fois où je l'ai vue sur e-bay et j'ai eu la chance de remporter les enchères à un prix à peu près correct.
Il me manque le rare "Wagon Train" (charriot) et le bateau à vapeur.
Peu compatible ave le 1/72, peut-être pour le Ho voire plus petit ?
J'espère compléter la collection !

J'ai dans l'idée de peindre les batiments de la ville: ils pourraient convenir à des mises en scène..

PROJECT HOBBITS PART 4 / SAM and BILL THE PONY (MITHRIL)

It's time to show Sam The Wise and his faithful Pony, Bill !
Bill don't appears a lot in the P.J. movies and it's sad because his friendship with Sam is important for understand the spirit of the Hero. Faithful Sam , with Frodo, with Rosie, with Bill, with all the people he meets...
Simple but always kind, curious (just think at his enthusiasm and admiration for Elves and even the  "Olifants" (Mumaks) ! )

Now, you can understand my sympathy for the character, maybe he's what I would like to be ....

Il est temps de montrer Sam The Wise et son poney fidèle, Bill!
Bill n'apparaît pas beaucoup dans les films de PJ et c'est triste parce que son amitié avec Sam est important pour comprendre l'esprit du héros. Fidèle Sam, avec Frodon, avec Rosie, avec Bill, avec tous les gens qu'il rencontre ...
Simple mais toujours aimable, curieux (il suffit de penser à son enthousiasme et son admiration pour les Elfes et même les "Olifants" (Mumaks)!)
Maintenant, vous pouvez comprendre ma sympathie pour le personnage, peut-être est-il ce que je voudrais être ....

PROJECT HOBBITS PART 3 / FEMALE HOBBITS ( MITHRIL )

I can't begin the presentation of my Hobbits in another way than showing first the women !
I've painted one before : "Female Hobbit Scout" (M445)
but those ones are different because they are civilians: 
Je ne peux pas commencer la présentation de mes Hobbits d'une autre manière que de montrer d'abord les femmes! J'en ai peint une auparavant: "Female Hobbit Scout" (M445)
mais ceux-là sont différentes parce qu'elles sont des civils:

1- Rose Cotton (Gamgee) and Goldilocks (M357):

  "Rose "Rosie" (Cotton) Gardner: (2984-F.A - 61). . Rosie was a long-time friend of Samwise Gamgee, and they were married in 3020 when Sam returned home after the War of the Rings. Sam and Rosie had thirteen children (Elanor, Frodo, Rose, Merry, Pippin, Goldilocks, Hamfast, Daisy, Primrose, Bilbo, Ruby, Robin, Tolman (Tom)). Many were named after Sam and Rosie's friends and relatives. Among them were Elanor the Fair, Frodo Gardner, and Goldilocks. Rosie died in the year 61 of the Fourth Age. 2 -Mrs Maggot (LR26 b)

Mrs Maggot is simply the wife of the well-known Farmer Maggot ! I'm sure that there are some delicious mushrooms in her arms for the Hobbits!

 

Mme Maggot est tout simplement la femme du célèbre Père Maggotte! Je suis sûr qu'il y a des champignons délicieux dans ses bras pour les Hobbits!

 

3-Female Hobbits (M323)

They are not special characters of the Tolkien's works, simple Female Hobbits!

The one on the left is referenced as "A-Housewife" and the one on the right as "B-Adventurer" !

I think that the "housewife" is jealous of the brave adventurer!

Ce ne sont pas des caractères spéciaux des œuvres de Tolkien, que de simples hobbits Femme!
Celle de gauche est référencée comme "A-Housewife" et celle de droite comme "B-aventurière"!
Je pense que la "femme au foyer" est jalouse de l'aventurière!

4-Female Hobbit and Children (M59)

( MITHRIL ) PROJECT HOBBITS PART 2 : FINISHED !!!!!!

Did you have ever seen a whole Army of Hobbits ???

No ?? 

Why Hobbits never had an Army ???

....BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH WEAPONS !!!

They spend mostly their time and energy for all what is important for a peaceful life :

-Eating

-Drinking beer and wine

-Talking with friends in the Inn

-Smoking their pipes in front of their holes

-Walking in their beloved Shire

and all the things which don't need weapons!

I know... a few Hobbits have some but it's very rare and only because of their job :

Guardians of the Shire ("Bounders")and  Scouts, Shirrif,

In exceptional occasions like the War of the Rings, they used some weapons but that's all!

.... well...enough blabla!

31 Hobbits, 2 dogs, one pony and a chair...

Aviez-vous déjà vu une toute l'armée de Hobbits??
Non?
Pourquoi les Hobbits n'ont jamais eu une armée??
.... Parce qu'ils n'ont pas suffisamment d'armes!
Ils passent la plupart de leur temps et énergie pour tout ce qui est important pour une vie paisible:
-Manger
-Boire de la bière et du vin
-Parler avec des amis à l'auberge
-Fumer leur pipe devant leurs trous
-Se promener dans la bien-aimée Comté
et toutes les choses qui n'ont pas besoin d'armes!

Je sais ... quelques Hobbits en ont,  mais c'est très rare et seulement à cause de leur travail:
Gardiens de la Comté ("Bounders") et les Scouts, Le Shirrif,..
Dans des occasions exceptionnelles comme la guerre des anneaux, ils ont utilisé des armes 

mais c'est tout!

Nice time I've spend there even if it was a little bit short!

(with the National Showcaves Centre for Wales at  Dan yr Ogof : perfect for my son fan of dinosaurs!)
Cardiff, beautiful and lively town with a lot of "Dr Who" at Cardiff's Bay !!
Bath: with the lonely hot spring of England in the Roman's thermal baths. 

 I should posted some pictures, but I'm too lazy and I'm not in a so good mental condition for that!

Je suis de retour de mes vacances en Angleterre et une petite partie du pays de Galles.
Agréable moment j'ai passé là-bas, même si c'était un peu court!
Temps ensoleillé (et chaud!) , beaux terrains de camping et B & B
(si vous avez besoin d'adresses, vous pouvez me demander!)
Magnifique Bracon Beacon Park (avec le National Showcaves Centre for Wales à Dan yr Ogof: parfait pour mon fils fan de dinosaures!)
Cardiff, belle ville animée avec beaucoup de "Dr Who" à la baie de Cardiff!
Bath: avec la seule source d'eau chaude de l'Angleterre dans les bains thermaux romains.

Je devrais poster quelques photos, mais je suis trop paresseux et je ne suis pas en assez bon état moral pour ça!

it seems that I've begun in summer 2010, so it was 3 years ago!

One Trappers, one Mountie and a dog (BUM) + HOLIDAYS !!!

While Peter shows his BUM'S Hurons ( Peter's Cave ), nicely painted, I have 3 more figures of this strange manufacturer.

(it's a young Husky, recalcitrant for the sledge's work, but very nice !)

Alors que Peter montre les Hurons de BUM (Peter's Cave ), joliment peints, j'ai terminé 3 autres figurines de cet étrange fabricant.
-Un trappeur (voir aussi here )

-et un chien que j'ai appelé "Snowy", en raison de sa couleur!
(c'est un jeune Husky, récalcitrant pour le travail du traîneau, mais très sympa!)

WIP : Some Hobbits .... (MITHRIL)

Hi, just a quick post .... 

I didn't have time for painting those days but I would like to show you 

another part of my (so many!) projects:

Painting (almost) all the Hobbits released by MITHRIL !! 

(you know that I'm crazy!)

I've begun... in the pictures you can see less than a half of them, and even if my collection is complete,  I will not paint  them all  ....

Female Hobbit (Rose?) Sam and Bill the Pony

Salut, juste un petit post ....
Je n'ai pas eu le temps de peindre ces jours-ci, mais je tiens à montrer une autre partie de mes (si nombreux!) projets :

Peindre (presque) tous les Hobbits de MITHRIL!   (vous savez que je suis fou!)
J'ai commencé ... dans les photos vous voyez moins de la moitié d'entre eux, et si ma collection est complète,  je ne les peindrai pas tous!
