HUNS ! - ( HAT 8298 ) **** Painted Review ****

I don't paint a lot all the past weeks...
I've just finished to paint the set "Huns" from HAT ( PSR Link ).
Not a great set !

3 sprues of 5 riders each with 3 separate arms which allow multiple  combinations.... but ....
only 4 horses for 5 riders ! (total of the box : 15 riders + 12 horses ). No comment.

The sculpt is half-bad (or half-good, it depends of your mood).
The faces are ... err.... "notsculpted" ! (it's a good excuse for a lazy face-painter like me)
The details on the figures are mainly ... missing ?
( and it's 8/10 on PSR !!!!!!!!! they have never paint figures !!!
mold is 10/10 : easy when there is almost nothing to mold !! )

The poses are not bad but I recommend to try to put the riders on the horses and eventually use a kraft-knife before painting the figures  because they don't seat well on the saddles !( I've always believed that Huns were excellent riders... pfffffff.... sad but I was wrong ... )

They are too tall (look at the last pictures at the bottom for comparison with the Lucky Toys "Black Huns" ), so don't expect to mix them !

No comment about the soft Hat-Plastic ... (I hate the hat-plastic, he he !)

One good point : I like the general look of those figures with their warm clothes.
But: could someone explain to me why those guys seem don't wear muffles as all right-in-the-head men should wear in their extreme conditions of life ????
I propose to do a donation for the sculptors (they are a lot !) which allows them to have some days of vacancies in Siberia ! (with horses, so they could see in the same time how are horses !)

... well , I've painted them....
for the first time, I've used (a little!) Citadel paints and I can say that it's not for me : it don't work with my usual "rustic-style" !

Pictures ?

Ok !

Let's go !

(LIGHT) ALLIANCE FANTASY : "Dwarves" set 1 completed

In 2013, I've painted 2 figures of this set and like I've recently painted the Set 2 (here), I was thinking that it was a good thing to complete the set 1!
This nice set of 11 poses is quite pleasant to paint and  fit perfectly with the set 2, except that the sculpt is a little bit less precise.

 The whole set :

"(LIGHT) ALLIANCE" : DWARVES (set 2) #72008 -Painted Review

After the "Half-Orcs", the "Orcs", it's time to show the "DWARVES" !

I could painted them in Tartan dress  because of the Bagpiper !
so I could have named them "Scottish Dwarves" !

Pictures are better than a lot of blabla ... and I don't know what to say about this set!
just: it's a good set, with very dynamic figures.... I like them !

If you are interested, one picture to compare the Alliance Dwarves and the Caesar Dwarves:

and to finish this post and this first serie of the ALLIANCE Fantasy range, a picture of the Big Band which  is the specialist of
"Orck&Troll Music" :

"SHAKHAI PORCNK"

(on the flag, you can read "We Play The Best Music Over the World" )

"'(Dark) ALLIANCE" : ORCS (set 3) #72003 -Painted Review

I've finished to paint the "Orcs" set 3 of the Fantasy Range from Alliance.

It's the same style than the sets 1 et 2 (I didn't still paint them) with a surprising "female orc" !

For more details on this set, better to go to "Cheap Fantasy Minis"

I've just painted the figures at all !

coming soon :
-ALLIANCE "DWARVES" (set 2)
-Old West Buildings (3/5 finished, maybe 5/5 in the next days ...)
-BUM Whaling Boat (Roger Rangers)

"'(Dark) ALLIANCE" : HALF-ORCS Infantry #72016 (set 2) -Painted Review -

I've painted one the new Fantasy sets from ALLIANCE :
the Half-Orcs Infantry (2)... I don't know why the "2" before the "1"...

1- the whole "band" :
the poses are not too bad but have a little bit too much almost similar poses and the sculpt is quite flat like says 1Mac -Mike (Orcs set 3 review : "Cheap Fantasy Figures" ).
No surprise about the inspiration...

With closer pictures :
The "static poses": the standard-bearer  and the musicians :

The Shooting Uruks: only 1 archer, not a lot ! maybe there will be other ones in the next sets ?

The Fighting Uruks : almost similar poses ...

and the whole set again in a more "lively" picture :

About the painting work : not great, but not bad for me (oups!) : not easy to find colours for almost dark characters ! I've tried to forget the greenish skin with a more grey one and I have added some touches of bronze and copper mixed with grey.

Like I've said before, I'm painting 2 other ALLIANCE sets  :
ORCS (set 3)  #72003  and Dwarves (set 2) #72008
They are 90% finished, so I will post them very soon.
A small "teaser" :

I've seen that some new sets are at the retailers so I will have to go to the market !
I wish you a nice Sunday and a good week.

WAR OF THE RING (WOTR) figures ! (unpainted!)

I've  bought some time ago a big lot of WOTR figures. (5o$ for 100 figures)
Like you can see, they are not especially master pieces but some could be used with other fantasy 1/72 figures... and they are a nice touch for an old Tolkien's fan collector !

I want to mention 1Mac from " Cheap Fantasy Minis "   who gave me the idea to search those strange figures.

the whole lot (except the 8 Nazguls):

details and comparisons :

cavalrymen (elves - men ) and a 1/72 Norman

Minas Thiris (x2) Rohirrim

Elves

Dwarves (the dark Grey from the Heroes range) Caesar Dwarves for comparison

Men  -Norman Kamar

Nazguls (Caesar Adventurer for the size)

UPDATE / ELF !!!   -Caesar Orc

The Fellowship ! ("Heroes" range )

the other figures of the "Heroes" range ...

Men with Caesar Adventurer for comparison

"Heroes" : I suppose The Witch King and Theoden ?
Caesar Adventurer "Wizard" and both wizards of the "Heroes" range
UPDATE/CORRECTION :
the figure identified as a Orc is an Elf !!!
many thanks to Barks ! have a look at his blog for the WoTR figures he have painted :
